Medical Care

  • When a client requests for doctor’s consultation for a child, registration is done by the front desk staff and a folder is prepared.

  • An appropriate sample required for the investigation will be taken by a member of staff appropriately dressed with protective clothing. Client can decide to wait at the OPD for results of laboratory investigations to be reviewed by doctor or go home for reviewed laboratory results to be communicated to them via phone calls. Phone numbers of parents are retrieved from the child’s folder.

  • You will be invited by a nurse to the nurse’s station. Nurses take vital signs (temperature, weight and other relevant measurements) of the child to be seen. During the process, the nurse triage and identify children with signs of emergency, who require immediate attention by attending doctor. After vitals are taken, clients are directed back to the waiting area to wait for their turn to see the doctor in the consulting room.

  • Prescribed medications will be served at the Pharmacy by a trained professional. Do well to ask all your questions related to drug constitution and intake.

  • The attending doctor takes a history and examines the child, arriving at a diagnosis with clear explanation on the ongoing condition and the treatment about to be given. Client is then directed on next steps in the continuum of care be it investigations or administration of treatment.

  • In the case of an admission, the client is allowed to choose between the private and main ward. The policies for admission in the facility are clearly explained. You have a trained nurse in attendance whilst on the ward. There is a bell on the ward to press whenever you require the attention of your nurse. All services required per the doctor’s treatment plan are rendered to the sick child with intermittent reviews on the ward by the attending doctor until child is well and discharged home.
